The Pak Pioneers Community Organization of Canada (PPCOC) celebrated Mississauga’s 50th Anniversary on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, gathering community members, leaders, and city officials for a truly memorable evening. The celebration featured a cake-cutting ceremony, fun trivia about Mississauga’s history, and heartfelt stories from members about their experiences in the city. City Councillors Chris Fonseca, Stephen Dasko, and Brad Butt joined the festivities, while a lively dance by Chinese seniors highlighted Mississauga’s vibrant diversity. MP Peter Fonseca also joined via video call from Parliament Hill in Ottawa, sharing his remarks and expressing support for PPCOC on this joyous occasion. To honor this milestone, PPCOC presented the city with a special token of appreciation, now displayed in the community center for all to see. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, and everyone thanked PPCOC for their dedication in organizing such a meaningful celebration of Mississauga’s journey and future together.
