Our main mission is to provide a platform for the community to create awareness about the issues of the South Asian Communbity and thier solutions through inclusion and active participation in the community.
Our vision is a future where a dedicated facility for South Asian seniors bridges cultural understanding and expectations, promoting dignified living and seamless intergenerational connections within a vibrant, inclusive community.
Our grand plan for seniors is to establish a Retirement Facility which can offer services, like, affordable foster care. Where, they can live along with the residents and service workers of their own social and cultural background who can understand their language, social and cultural requirements and where they can eat their own ethnic foods. This will fulfill the purpose of providing them a home like environment.
Who We Are
The primary focus of PPCOC is to offer services for senior citizens. One of the well established reality and a common known fact experienced by our South Asian Seniors, is their loneliness in this society and they definitely need frequent interaction from among people of their own culture and language. For this purpose we planned to arrange a meeting place as a “Seniors’ Club”.
Where, they will get a chance to interact with people from the same social and cultural background like themselves. Our efforts met the first success when the City Government provided us a room free of cost at the Burnhamthorpe Community Centre for the weekly meeting of Seniors Club. We appreciate Councillor Chris Fonseca for guiding and facilitating us in achieving this target.
